The NIE Number 

Identification Number of a Foreigner

Before you buy a property, you will need an NIE number. NIE means Número de Identificación de Extranjeros, or Identification Number of a Foreigner. The NIE number is necessary for every financial transaction in Spain. You can obtain this number at the Foreigners Police. We will of course accompany you.
