About Tenerife

If you are considering buying property in Tenerife, perhaps you would like to know more about the island...

From Teide to Loro Park, Tenerife has something for everyone

Tenerife, which forms part of the Canary Islands , has a superb year-round subtropical climate, which has created a full twelve month holiday industry. It is also a duty free island, which means that many goods are much cheaper than mainland Spain or other European countries. Tenerife has therefore become, apart from a holiday destination 'par excellence', the first choice for many who wish to spend their winter under the sun, take an early retirement or those who are looking for an investment opportunity.

With a relaxed atmosphere all year round, Tenerife offers many different activities for both visitors and residents alike. Whether you like windsurfing at El Medano, scubadiving in Las Galletas or perhaps paragliding from the Adeje hills, there is something for everyone.

Tenerife also has several fine international golf courses and a large number of superb nature walks. If you prefer to soak up the sun and relax there is also a wide choice; from the rocky inlets to the black, volcanic sand beaches and from the man-made beaches with imported sand to the natural white sand ones.

This volcanic island has the highest mountain in Spain, El Teide (3718m²), varied terrain; the huge Cañadas crater with its amazing rock formation, the laurel forest and subtropical coastline around the north west and, of course, its beaches. From its clear coastal waters you can watch whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. You can follow the wine trails, or enjoy the silence of Tenerife 's volcanic ravines; discover charming, old world towns such as La Orotava and La Laguna, or visit the capital city Santa Cruz with its abundance of shops. Go to Loro Parque where you can see an enormous variety of animal life and nature conservation at its best and then, in the evening, enjoy the dinner-dances, visit the discos or some of the thousands of bars and restaurants.

Beaches in Tenerife

And if you happen to be here at the time, join the vibrant, colourful Carnival in February which is amongst the most spectacular in the world. All these activities are the perfect complement to golf and beaches and should not be missed.

This wonderful island is an ideal place both to live and to have a holiday as it caters for all age groups. In fact, you name it and Tenerife can offer it, so come and see this wonderful Island for yourselves. Most visitors who stay here once, return year after year and many buy property in Tenerife for the excellent investment potential or simply to have a second home in the sun.
